NOTES:
Saying it Better
In any normal, long-term relationship, there are going to be complaints. In this episode of Foreplay – Radio Sex Therapy, Laurie Watson and Dr. Adam Mathews debunk the myths about complaints being all negative. Saying things like, “You never spend time with me,” puts all the blame on the other person and makes them feel worse.
Laurie and Adam pinpoint the main issue with complaints is that they are spoken in only a surface level, accusational way. To reach a level of deeper emotion with a partner, you must say your complaints in a different way. Learn the formula for the perfect complaint by taking a listen to Episode 181 – Saying it Better. Say it better, so you can do it better!
Find out how to now by listening to Episode 180 – Sleeping on my Side of the Bed.
